  • What happened to Palestine?

Since the 1940s, Palestinian land has been annexed by Israel. Annexation is defined as the forcible acquisition of a state’s territory by another state.

Israel planned to annex around 30% of the Occupied West Bank on July 1. However, the country has since postponed the annexation. The Occupied West Bank includes the Jordan Valley and Israeli settlements.

  • What's happening to Palestinians now?

Palestinian refugees are becoming a large population as more are forced out of their homes by Israel. After the Arab-Israeli war in 1948, many Palestinians fled to the West Bank, the Gaza strip, and neighboring countries such as Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan. However, the Israeli government still continues to enforce severe and discriminatory restrictions on Palestinians’ human rights for those who still reside in the area.

It's very important to educate yourself on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict due to its long and complex history.
